Vice President of Responsible Gambling and Social Responsibility, Loto-Québec
A member of the Collège des médecins du Québec since 1986, Guylaine Rioux graduated in medicine from Université Laval and began her professional career as a general practitioner. For many years, she endeavoured to support her patients and see to their well-being in private practice as well as in hospital (emergency, external clinics) and home care environments.
Dr. Rioux began her public service career in Québec in 1991 as a consultant physician at the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, the Régie des rentes du Québec and the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail, where she was Vice President, Partnerships and Consulting, from 2005 and 2010. She then became President and CEO of Services-Québec until she was first appointed Vice President of Responsible Gambling at Loto-Québec in September 2012, and later, Vice President of Responsible Gambling and Social Responsibility, in September 2014.
Thanks to her professional background, Dr. Rioux developed an interest in public service and the development of partnerships geared towards customer service efficiency and optimization. In every job she holds, she focuses on bringing stakeholders together towards a common objective by building on individual strengths in a transparent process.
