Geneviève Mottard graduated from Concordia University in 1999 with a diploma in accounting and successfully completed Queens University’s Leadership Program in 2013. Geneviève has been a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec since 2001.
Geneviève began her career with EY, where she worked in progressively senior roles until 2010, when she held the position of Senior Manager in the Assurance Services group in the Montreal office. In this capacity, she acquired extensive experience in providing accounting and auditing services to a wide range of clients in the manufacturing, insurance, media and biotechnology industries.
In 2010, she was appointed Regional Director, Eastern Canada, of the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Canada’s audit regulator responsible for protecting the investing public’s interests. She demonstrated leadership and diplomacy when she managed the expansion of CPAB’s operations in Eastern Canada, as well as the development and implementation of a stakeholder engagement strategic plan for national and local accounting firms, directors of public corporations, the CPA Order, the Autorité des marchés financiers and the Barreau du Québec.
At the helm of the Order since February 2016, Geneviève is Vice-President of the Fédération internationale des experts-comptables francophones (FIDEF). A member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, she has also served as a volunteer, honorary treasurer and board member of the Canadian Deafness Research and Training Institute since 1997.
